Rose Mallow

Postby Rambler » Sep Wed 05, 2018 7:00 am

During my last trip to Beck where I picked up a onesy I got distracted by Rose Mallows blooming along the shore. I've been to Beck many times over the years going back to the 60s but don't recall seeing them there before.

They're native members of the Hibiscus family. There are some blooming along the north side of the channel to CWB at Busse too.

There's another member of the family - the Kankakee Mallow - that grows only along the K3 in IN & IL.

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid

Don't forget Rose's sister Marsha, also common in North American.
