Threw buzzbaits all afternoon. Only had to use my anchor 2 or 3 times - it was wonderfully windless. Took our time working our way along the Higgins side & then over between the islands. At the north end of the channel I caught my only bass of the day - a 6 - 7" monster.

After a while I cruised over to the little cove south of CWB. No cormorants on cormorant island. Great place to get out, visit the governor and relax a bit. Sat in my canoe casting once in a while, enjoying the music of the gold finches & king birds nailing bugs above the water. I'm strongly considering giving that cove an unofficial, WCF-only name. Unless anyone objects I'm calling it 'Rambler Cove'. Busse Jim gets first dibs on nixing the idea.
Finally headed back to the launch. Lousy fishing but an absolutely glorious day.
