Fox River in Cheeseland

Spent a mini-vacation with the family in So Wisc last week as has been a tradition my entire life. Mostly doing things such as the State Fair, big family dinners, swimming, etc. But I did sneak a couple short early morning outings in as the rest of the adults slept off their hangovers. After not getting a pike for a few years now in the section I fish, I couldn't keep them off my line. Caught double digits.

I use leaders all of the time up there so I wasn't caught off guard. Other species were active on the same presentations as well, and leaders didn't bother them even in the clear water. Really only tossed Shad Raps and Whopper Ploppers the whole time.

I posted a quickie report on another site and added some pics. Today I get this gem of a one liner in my pm from another user: "You know what posting success pictures does, it brings added pressure." Haven't responded yet, not sure if I'm gonna. It's an unfortunate attitude to take. I have yet to speak with a Conservation Officer that says they want less people fishing.

It's not like you are giving away the farm. I drive past the general area where you fish sometimes and I have never seen anyone fishing besides the occasional bank fishermen. Great report as always.

Nice mixed bag. As to the private message don’t even dignify it with a response.

Looks like it was a great trip.

I'd just ignore the PM.

It's amazing how many total assholes there are in this sport. Bugs me when people think "spots" are so sacred, especially on a river where in addition to fish being able to move, the water does too. Awesome catches though, not used to seeing you around that much teeth.

Guy has a point! Stick to posting skunks! This is a fishing forum, not a fish holding forum! Sick of seeing these damn fish!

Hmm...maybe we should move to the system they have in the UK. You buy a license only for a specific stretch of a river.

On some streams it's dry fly only & if you get caught casting downstream you lose your license.

Draconian but keeps the assholes away.

J dog. im sure i drive by that part of the River all the time and like Matt said i very rarely see anyone fishing it. so for this idiot to make that comment...what a fool. Funny that people think that if they know your spot they can catch too, everyday is different and and knowledge of a particular spot means everything
