Buck Creek

There are seemingly endless amounts of rivers, creeks and their tributaries throughout northeast Illinois.

Buck Creek

Has anyone fished Buck Creek down by Ottawa? I’m looking to fish and discover some of the better creeks in Illinois especially ones that offer great angling opportunities. I’ve read some great things but would love to hear firsthand from anyone that has any experience there. And possibly where to start?

Never fished it. The authority on this kind of stuff is KenG but I don't think he checks out WCF much anymore.

I suspect Buck is like most other small Illinois creeks that is to say there might be smallies or it might just be 'gills, chubs, etc.

FYI - the next small creek that empties into the Fox upstream of Buck - Indian Creek - has a good population of smallies (I've seen them) so Buck might also.

Good luck - let us know what you find out.
Keep calm and fish on...

There's a fine line between fishing and just sitting there looking stupid
