Got a call from a bud who claims to have that awesome pond we all here about. Private pond, nothing but the backyard to a few mansions. My buddy claimed soft plastics kill here, was a little to lazy to take off my favorite DPR lure so what happens first cast, BANG! largie, third cast BOOM! largie, 4th cast POP! just a little gill. I honestly was bored after 20 minutes of catching 3lb large mouth after large mouth. I was hoping for something in 5lb range, so I stayed a little longer. Biggest girl of the day was probably only 3.5 or 4lbs. Over a dozen fish were caught on a x-rap including two fiesty gills, the soft plastics went 1 for 3. I don't get the sport or the thrill in catching fish in a barrel. I'll stick to my smell DPR.

Its more a Still water Vs Moving Water preference I think. Most ponds are like fish in a barrel. I hit a few ponds today and went 100 cast for 0. Nothing doing.
Still looking for my FIRST OF THEYEARGODDAMIT! :(

Haha, Far from Pristine But if it was you would catch 15 smallies a day not 1. Feel me?

And yes I get your point kinda. Targeting harder to catch fish can be rewarding.

Some people don't like largemouth.
I definetly feel that! I will be sneaking over to assualt that fox in may/june--- after I'm done cleaning up on the gators in the DPR...
