North Shore Channel Fishing Report: 7-12-08

Fished the Howard discharge from 2:30pm-4:30pm; mostly cloudy; breezt south winds; temps in the 80's.

Alex and I worked several baits and got skunked.

Argh! Been a rough week fishing for sure.

It's been a rough week fishing in all of illinois...lol where I use to average 10 fish an outing the last week seems more like 2-3.... It has been off. Hopefully it picks up...

Great Report Jason I Love when anglers report whether or not they caught anything those are true reports! And I respect you for it..

Keep them coming.. The reports not the skunks..lol

Havent heard a report from there in a while. That spot can be tricky when its hot out. :wink:

I just sat traffic on the Howard bridge. I had to roll up my windows P.U.!!! :shock:

I love to fish but OMG did it reek! Is it like that often?

Jason,

I overlooked this post when it first came out.

I can't say I too surprised at your report. I fish the Calumet River quite a bit and the fishing really changes out there in the summer. During May and June the fish are in shallower especially in the marinas and cuts. Once mid-July hits those spots are not nearly as productive. Over the last couple weeks, I've caught fish in spots that didn't yield anything earlier in the year. Just thought I'd contribute. Good fishing.
