yeah i caught a bunch of them on lake michigan on small crayfish but yeah like i heard they bite most baits that are big enough for them

ive caught quite a few of them on live minnows about 2 ft below a bobber !!
they also like the 2 inch bitsy tube baits too ,texas rigged on a 1/0 EWG Gamakatsu hook !!!

In some lakes they will hit anything and everything and on other lakes they can actually be picky. For the picky ones, leeches and fatheads seem to do the trick.

Any minnow bait. f-4 rapalas in minnow color work very well. Or if you are one Geneva, try casting huge cranks, you will end up catching a few small rockies.

i usualy catch em on anything live bait the best. usually while walleye fishing. they really come out around sunset and you can catch em into the night. they seem to be kinda nocturnal. at least up north.

I agree with Ron. When prepared right they are tasty. We have had them mixed in the deep fryer with walleye and crappie and could not tell the difference b/w them.

they taste pretty good to me. though when you fillet em you will find the fillets are kinda small. they have a big boney skull that takes up where you would find good meat on a fish like a bluegil.
