Went to Busse with my brother at noon. We got there and by 12:30 we landed 3 carp, two for me and one for him. My first one was about 21" and 4 maybe 5 pounds. The second one I got was a tad smaller and my brothers was the smallest about 18". There was one guy on the bridge who wasn't a buckethead.. people down on the shore were. I landed the first one and some kid asked me if he could keep the fish.. told him no and let the fish go. Then two other bucketheads came and start casting right by our lines and they tangled with another guy. These guys were total idiots. We only stayed 30 minutes because we were getting pissed off. Not a bad day for a half hour though..

That's right. That guy was an idiot standing on the ledge. Kind of wish he would have fell in. That would have been funny. I remember catching my carp and tangled with one man. the line snapped before I can get my hands on the fish. Then he looked at me and said "we're free" and then smiled. What a jerk. It was nice catching big carp while the only thing he caught was a 4 inch catfish. :)

nice job at catching the fish.

i would've said something to the guy casting over me.
We were going to but decided against it. If he made me lose a fish then we'd have a problem. We just laughed at him getting snagged every 15 seconds. He knew we thought he was a moron.

couldn't have agreed more
mplant ur a genuis
but they are fun to catch

Such a catch 22. It's fun to catch em so you wanna let em go and piss off the B heads. But you'd also like to think the other way, carp destroy weed beds, and like mplant said, help them get their daily dose of toxins. One meal a week bucket heads, do some research. When I fished with my dad when I was younger, he always threw carp and bullheads on shore for the animals, which in this case would be bucket heads.

Wow, funny thing is I just read your bass reviving post right before reading this one TGE. I guess it's kinda like everyone helping hot people and passing fat nasty people. If a carp swallows my hook I take it personal and I get it back. Other than that, I don't think I could kill a fish. To each his own, and thanks for doing the dirty work.

That proably makes me seem like much more of a psycho than I really am. I was simply presenting it as a passive way to "thumb your nose" at a "buckethead" without getting into it with them. I'm not saying I do it every time, and I only catch a carp once or twice a year accidentaly. I have thought about carp fishing on purpose to really make a dent, but never have. I respect the oppinions of those who want to release carp as if it was a sportfish, but the fact is that its an invasive species that destroys the bodies of water it invades. They have just been around so long many people stopped caring, and some even began embracing it. I dont hear anyone saying they c&r the Asian Carp that are about to get into Lake Michigan, or revive one after it jumps into their boat on the river and almost kills them. But with time people will slowly forget and become complacent. I am pretty comfortable with how I do things....protecting the naturaly occuring species as best I can, and fighting the spread/growth of invasive species whenever possible. Just my personal way, everybodys different.

I'm tempted to just go out and ruin bucketheads days by getting a muskee rod and some 80 lbs braid and crossing their lines on purpose and pulling in so hard it snaps their lines. I say we make a wcf outing for doing so.

Ran into some of these guys at churchill woods the other day. They were targeting carp which I thought was a great thing. I fished a few hours without even a bite so I asked them for some corn for my other rod, and told them they could have what ever I caught. Caught one small one, bout 4 pounds, and they caught 5 since they had muskie poles that actually made it across the river right under the trees. I felt bad because they seemed like nice guys so I told them to look at the signs about carp on the way out, but they didn't understand me, figures. Until I see something wrong, I can't do anything, it's not right.
