Has anyone been fishing the warm water discharge, south end of Busse Lake? I'm just looking for a spot to throw some lures around, maybe pester a game fish.
oh I almost fell out of my chair when i read this...i've met one of these guys, told me and my buddy he was using a $600 rod...My buddy told me later he has the same pole, got it from walmart for $50Rambler said:Watch out for 2 old farts who fish for muskies there. Both heavily bearded, retired union guys. One of them will BS you about how much he pays for his lures, reels, etc. Good guy anyway.![]()
lol - yep so true....fished next to one of these guys....was casting 3-4lb carp as bait....DID show me a picture on is phone of a 47" muskie he pulled out of that pool and i recognized a large brush pile in the background that is very recognizable in that pool...or was until everything floodedWoohoodude11 said:Yeah the guys that go down there to target the 'skis are funny. You'll have a few people throwing jigs and neds, a few on the bottom going for cats and carp, then one guy flinging some 3 pound lure...SPLASH lmao
Biggest one I've seen out of there...Rambler said:Watch out for 2 old farts who fish for muskies there. Both heavily bearded, retired union guys. One of them will BS you about how much he pays for his lures, reels, etc. Good guy anyway.![]()
Kinda doubt you'd see Joe there since he lives in NC.EricSignGuy said:Nice fish, Joe, wish I'd seen you. 5 other fishermen got skunked at the pond this am.
Yeah that was year 1 of "rediscovering" my love for fishing. I was fishing pretty much paddle tails and whopper ploppers exclusively lol. I didn't know better at the time.philkol123 said:Woohoodude, don't worry about buying muskie gear. I've caught more muskie on a KVD 2.5 Squarebill than any other lure I own. I think I'm up to 5 total on the KVD, all on the Wisconsin River. Goal for this year is to catch one in Illinois so I will be on Salt Creek soon.
All of my skies have come on traditional bass spinnerbaits in 1/2oz and 3/4oz, and a medium heavy bass casting rod. I haven't caught a single muskie chucking big ass muskie baits on muskie rods. Only thing those have ever gotten me are sore arms and shoulders. :lol:philkol123 said:Woohoodude, don't worry about buying muskie gear.
