Watch out for 2 old farts who fish for muskies there. Both heavily bearded, retired union guys. One of them will BS you about how much he pays for his lures, reels, etc. Good guy anyway. :D
oh I almost fell out of my chair when i read this...i've met one of these guys, told me and my buddy he was using a $600 rod...My buddy told me later he has the same pole, got it from walmart for $50

Yeah the guys that go down there to target the 'skis are funny. You'll have a few people throwing jigs and neds, a few on the bottom going for cats and carp, then one guy flinging some 3 pound lure...SPLASH lmao
lol - yep so true....fished next to one of these guys....was casting 3-4lb carp as bait....DID show me a picture on is phone of a 47" muskie he pulled out of that pool and i recognized a large brush pile in the background that is very recognizable in that pool...or was until everything flooded

If I had to guess I would say Fishdank caught around 30 skis from there last year. He works nearby and religiously fishes it on lunch break.

Nice fish, Joe, wish I'd seen you. 5 other fishermen got skunked at the pond this am.
Kinda doubt you'd see Joe there since he lives in NC.

Stopped there today for a look-see. Another old fart was just finishing up. He'd been there for 2 hours & got skunked.

This goes down as my one and only a couple years ago. Super grateful for the European guy that was just setting up to go carping and his net. This little guy almost got me to get some dedicated Muskie gear until I found out I can fund my bass fishing hobby for life with just one season of Muskie gear.

Woohoodude, don't worry about buying muskie gear. I've caught more muskie on a KVD 2.5 Squarebill than any other lure I own. I think I'm up to 5 total on the KVD, all on the Wisconsin River. Goal for this year is to catch one in Illinois so I will be on Salt Creek soon.

Yeah that was year 1 of "rediscovering" my love for fishing. I was fishing pretty much paddle tails and whopper ploppers exclusively lol. I didn't know better at the time.

All of my skies have come on traditional bass spinnerbaits in 1/2oz and 3/4oz, and a medium heavy bass casting rod. I haven't caught a single muskie chucking big ass muskie baits on muskie rods. Only thing those have ever gotten me are sore arms and shoulders.
