For the record there are still a few trout left at Axehead. Problem is that the trout left are some kind of mutant ninja hybrid trout that know how to slip hooks, pick locs, and probably hack into government databases. I was out from 5:30am - 7 am Monday and got two bites, both of which I was able to set the hook. The first one I got two feet from shore when it snapped the 4# transistion I was using. I honestly saw one of his buddies come by with a pair of nail clippers to help him out. The second I got half way home when somehow he got off the hook.

Out of frustration I went to Beck from there and didnt get a strike, then on to the OCC and had similiar success. At least the weather was warmer than last week.

I was using #8 gemakatsu "octopus" on one rod and eagle claw #10 on the other. I don't know, the hooks are so small, maybe a larger hook is in order.
