Got a chance to stop by the lakefront and checked out the area behind the Shedd Aquarium. Sure enough, as I arrived a man had just hooked into a fish. After a 10 minute battle, he landed a nice 17-20lb king salmon.
He caught it on spawn, 8' under a bobber. Didn't get any pics, but a very nice fish!
Time was 2pm, sunny skies, temps about 50 with gusty west winds 15-30mph.
He indicated that there were a few other decent fish caught that morning/afternoon by the other anglers there. Spawn sacs seemed to be the ticket.
