I got a day off from work and parenting today, because I have pinkeye. Pinkeye is basically the best bacterial issue to have, because you feel perfectly healthy but have to do solitary things like fishing.

This is the first time I've been fishing in quite a while.

A nice pike did this and was apparently full, because I never saw it again:


This one was cooperative so I took it out of the water for a close-up:


The others were too wild so I unhooked them in the water:

where is hoffman dam located at? Is it anywhere near Lyons?

These were caught near Palwaukee airport (or whatever it's called nowadays).

The Hoffman Dam is in Lyons and Riverside. I haven't fished there in a few years, but when I did I caught many saugers.

Thanks guys. I picked up a tiny pike this afternoon on a swimbait. I probably won't get a chance to fish the DPR again until spring :x

Nice to see you get on some DPR pike. Remember, they are there throughout the year - if you can get out for an hour, don't let your season end.
