I on the other hand lost a new pole over the side of boat when we measuring on of Matts sorta put a damper on me
Fishing ok early pretty bad by 11am water 54 , fish just off a bit ....believe 1 biteoff today.

Not sure why the fishing was off. 53 water temps should have been ideal but over the course of the day we only got 7 or 8 pickups. I lost the last fish of the year after about a 5 second tussle. Very heavy weight and stayed deep. Definetly not a smallmouth. Musky, pike, walleye, lake trout? Not sure but it is what keeps me coming back.
