OK, i realize that Axehead isnt going to ever be a great fishery but i live on the northwest side of chicago and do a lot of work in park ridge so sometimes i bring my gear with me on jobs and stop by there. Does anyone know of any good places to fish at axe, i ve been there a few times walked around the whole lake and it seems that every inch of shoreline looks exactly the same with the exception of a few trees and stumps that dont produce for me, help me out.

I have been doing Axe after work just about every day weather permitting. Total skunk for the past couple of weeks. I fish every where except the south west bay area and the west shore. I have never had much luck on those sides. I also haven't fished other years in the spring there. But in June/July I was having pretty good luck with smaller senkos and sluggos on a texas rig. You'll never get anything huge from the Axe but I live in Park Ridge and its an easy sneak out the back door to steal away an hour. Sometimes it feels like like I'm miles away.

I've caught fish from just about all locations around the lake. Even though there is not much in the way of typical structure, there are weed beds, and pockets throughout the entire circumference of the lake. I personally love the entire north shoreline and the "point" (if you can call it that) on the south shoreline between the parking lots.

Take a look at previous reports from Axehead and you'll see some OK fish caught. There are some big ones in there no doubt, but generaly I feel good after an outing of a half dozen bass all between 10"-13". Makes for a nice time at a lake so close to home.
