I tried Beck Lake today for the first time. I had never even heard of this lake until I came onto this site. Once again this site lead me to a great place just like it did for Lake Arlington. I got out of work early and fished from 3:15 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. under cloudy skies, but it never rained (luckily). I caught 6 bluegills (mostly in the 5" range) on nightcrawlers and 3 largemouth on plastic worms. Two of the largemouth were about 5", but the other one was one of the biggest fish I have ever caught. It probably wouldn't be considered all that large by what I have seen everyone else on this site catch, but it was 14" and represented the first fish I have ever caught on a plastic worm. I was using a texas rigged, unweighted Kinami Flash Worm in green pumpkinseed color. Not the biggest fish ever, but it gave me a thrill and made my weekend. I have included the photo below so that I have proof of my catch. Once again I have to applaud this site for giving the average fisherman a fantastic resource to discover new places to catch fish.
