got over to the riv tonight. beautiful weather. threw the 2inch white grub/twister and after about 20 bluegill got this 9 inch crappie. quite a bit bigger than those i'd found a few days ago. now if i can just find those 12-14 inchers. :lol:

yeah panfishing can be a nice break if the bass just aren't cooperating. lots of fun, constant action.

go anywhere where there are rocks or trees down toward the water. which is basically all over the place- at least at my neck of the woods between lawrence and oakton. pm me if you want some specific spots.

Got any decent spots for pan fishing in the chicago river. I used to go over by the college North Park and fish would catch some by a dam or waterfall area is that stilla good spot?

yeah that area is still decent. caught two rock bass, two crappie, and 1 white perch there in an hour on Sunday. fish the east side of the river though. the wall by the spillway has become a joke. tons of bucketheads catching carp after carp. so yeah, if you want to catch carp (in a crowd of people) go there. actually i don't see any real big carp there though. probably nothing over 10-12 pounds. but crappie can be taken around the rockier areas. jigging with some small grub/twisters just off the bottom. i have luck just above and in between rocks-seems like they hide in there waiting to ambush bait.
