Hey guys,

Don't give up on Lake Arlington just yet. I was there tonight and worked virtually the entire south shore. I focused on the spots where the shore runs into deep water quickly. There's a pretty solid and consistent weed patch all along the shore. I was getting the skunk until I started casting Senkos just over the weeds. I got several bites but like Jason last night, I could not keep them on the hook or I lost them in the weeds. Then I found a few little channels through the weeds where I could draw the bait through. I landed 4 decent bass after pausing almost ten seconds between twitches. It was a lesson in patience with the light fading and the bugs taking over the lake.

BTW, I fish Arlington 3 to 4 times a week. If anyone is ever there, look for me. I'm the guy with the orange cap pretending to fish. Come by and introduce yourself. I have yet to meet any WCF members.

Do you have a spot or side you like best? I go there every once in a while, usually staying on the north side of the north shore, north of the beach.

Steve, This time of year I like the south shore just east of the point. During pre-spawn, the big rocks of the east shore were really producing. Last year the north-facing beach just below the gazebo was one of my favorite hot spots. I dragged white tubes along the bottom and one morning I landed 18 bass in one hour. This year is a different story. Not a one from that spot. Some day I'm gonna get a boat out there and dropshot the middle.

There is parking, basically get off on Schoenbeck road(from palatine) turn right/north then turn left on the 2nd street, (Lake Arlington Dr) then hang a right on The first street, Charterpoint. Follow it until you hit the lake.
Basically, follow the power lines, and youll get there.

There's another way to get to the south shore. Go north through the intersection of Palatine Road and Windsor Dr. and take the first right on Rosehill Dr. Follow the brown street signs to Flentie Park. You can park in the street and walk about 100 yards to the lake. That puts you right at the point on the south shore.
