Fished from 5-6:30 At the dam between 5 and 6.
I saw a TON of top water action right when the sun started coming up, it was amazing, bass and other fish darting to the surface to catch the bugs. Quite a sight even if you weren't fishing!
Ended up with one 14", that was a b**ch to get out. He headed right for the weeds, and had to pull him through the weeds, but decided that wasnt a good idea grabbed my other pole snagged the weeds and pulled them away that way..

Yea, thinking smarter sometimes helps!

What kinda gets me is all that Topwater action and I cant get a darn topwater bite! On a buzzbait or anything.

Oh well, ole reliable Senko to the rescue!

Nice Danno. It can be frustraing, but I have found when I was out that early using a topwater that you can let sit for a minute at a time is the way to go. Most of my success came on the first twitch after letting it sit for 30-60 seconds after the cast.

It was hard to dicipline myself to not work it too fast. I had to get drunk.

If they're popping bugs you might want to downsize. Personally i go to a Mepps Thunder bug and burn it near the top in conditions like that
