I like using them in Canada as well. With a big grub trailer, they work through the reeds perfectly. The smallies seemed to like them as well. Of course, in Canada, the fish are always where they should be and have no problem hitting gaudy presentations
My father was in the Navy shortly before WWII. He was assisting in the construction of airbases to ferry airplanes to England. He said that in some of the area around Hudson Bay they would pull monsters out on gum wrappers folded around a hook.
I guess were dealing withs some tough, street smart, urban fish.
