Last week I tried to launch at IG, I mean I did launch, but I felt like German infantry in October, in Russia, getting through 6 inches of mud. And the current was a bit fast, and I got skunked. This time I launched from a different spot
River looks better now, still murkier than last year, but the current calmed down enough that you don't wish for an anchor on every cast, so it was a very pleasurable paddle from that standpoint. Fishing was not all that great - I managed to land a couple of smaller bass but I am still struggling connecting with them in consistent fashion even in places that look fishy.
The brightest spot of the outing, apart from not being skunked was a pair of bald eagles I saw perched in a tree. I hope you prefer the carp, guys, and eat the whole effen lot of them!
