this area is getting no traffic. just curious if anyone is fishing the river. I myself have been a couple times in the last month but only catching lots of rock bass. been downstate lately and wondering if the bass are turning on anywhere in particular. :?:

I fished the "old honey hole" I used to fish all the time last week and had ZERO results. Was fishing the Northshore Channel by Howard Street.

Was surprised that there was no action at all, especially since the conditions seemed SO good.

Jason, i've fished the same "honey hole" and had little results so far this year. like I said lots of rock bass over by the rail but nothing by the bridge except for a 4 or 5 inch largemouth that just accidentally hopped on a small hook with crappie nibble powerbait. strange. tons of big carp jumping around there as usual. hopefully it will pick up. still trying to get on those crappie i've heard about in the area.

While fishing that area I noticed the lack of shad that are usually in extreme abundance. Also very few carp and goldfish popping around. Can't imagine the ecosystem in there could change much, perhaps just an anomaly.

I fished my spot at Canal Origins Park off of S. Ashland for about 45 minutes yesterday (Wed.) before sundown, and caught some bluegill off of nightcrawlers. Nothing too exciting, but it was nice to catch some fish.

It's been slow all over this year.

But then again It's opened up new tactics needin use

grubs are a pretty hott commodity this season... if you haven't known.

especially wit all the late minnow hatches..

Hair jigs.. although always pretty consistent seem hotter this season as well. Especially under a slip-float.

my big bulky baits i use less of, And I've been using nothing over about 2 1/2" - 3"

It's been catchin, And they've been fatties so there definitely eating

It'll be pickin up shortly...
