Finally had a chance to get down to my honey whole in Morris. I picked a bad day for bass. Weather was in the 70's upon arrival and very windy. Because of the storms that night water level was up a couple of feet. I was targeting large mouth bass, but after using everything in my arsenal I was unsuccessful. Quite fustrating! After hours of this I decided to target crappie and had much better sucess. Once I located a spot with some very good structure I managed 7 nice crappies. I ended up using a pecil bobber with crappie minnows. I rather catch fish using lures, but the minnows helped avoid the skunk, which is A ok in my book. Me and my buddy I was fishing with, saw a huge Pike patroling the waters in the crappie spot. That sucker was a least 40 inches it looked like a giant torpeding just cruising the waters. Would of been nice to hook into that.
