I'm probably gonna head up to Axehead after work today, probably get there around 5-5:30pm and stay for an hour or so. Im gonna try moving around to the deeper sides this time. Maybe i'll have better luck. If anyone is planning on being there also please PM me, i wouldn't mind some help with my lures. I figured ill start on the river rd side entrance and go to the bend in the middle. any suggestions on what works best there?

So I finally ended my skunk streak at Axehead. After cleaning the lake and removing most of the weeds I caught this little guy at around 6pm on a sparkly wiggler, also the first fish i ever caught on a lure. This would be my first fish out of axehead and the only one I caught tonight haha. I feel a whole lot better though now that I actually caught something from there. Now, maybe you guys can help me out and tell what kind of fish this is. I'm still getting familiar with different species. I think he was roughly 8-10 inches.

That is a nice axehead largemouth. Looks like it came on a chartreause twistertail. One of my favorite colors. I would recomend trying a spinnerbait in that same color scheme.

Does brand matter? what brand of spinnerbaits are good?

Whatever's cheapest. I just cant bring myself to buy $5 spinnerbaits.
