I also fished today from 4:45-5:45 and got skunked. Only saw 1 caught. It sucks, but I know that they are in there. Any ideas on when they'll start biting again? I did see quite a few surfacing.
As to when they will start biting again, your guess is as good as mine. My hope is that there will still be some left by the time there is ice and I can explore the deeper parts of Axehead that way.
I've only been ice fishing a couple of times when I was a kid. That mostly consisted of my cousins and me running around on the ice, while my dad and uncles did most of the fishing. I'd like to give it a try this year.
Last year I bought some basic ice fishing stuff (poles, tip-ups, jigs) and didn't really get a chance to use them. As much as I hate the cold weather, I hope that I get to actually use it this year.
