Has anyone been to axehead is it iced over?

I live right by it ......it's iced over.

I drove by before dark one day last week and saw two little shanties out there. If it isnt closed when I go by tonight Ill cut a hole and check how thick it is.

Stay away from the pipe by the parking lot off Touhy (the cement box right by the emergency calls phone) There were lots of goose tracks around there. Other than that looks good.

Just got a hand auger - Strikemaster Lazer 8". I might have to try it out at Axehead.
