Fished from 430-730pm. The bluegill spawn is definately on. The big gills were gaurding beds all around the island. It was interesting watching them. The bass were a little harder to find. Got a crappie a couple bass. All on Watermellon creatures.

Here is the question. Does anyone know if there was another one of those weed kills? (I believe the last one was in 05?) The weeds seem to have disappeared from a few spots entirely, and there are areas on the downwind shores that are thick with loose weeds on top. The water also tasted, I mean smelled, a little like chlorine. I am hoping it is just a natural thing, but I wouldnt bet on it.

Good job Rudy! I hope that they aren't trying to kill the weeds off again. I think that was the reason for the poor fishing the last few years. Now that the place is doing a lot better this year, it would be a shame if they are messing with the weeds again.

The geese were all eating while swimming around. This brings me to another question I ponder while on Beck. They were eating something, but they did not have to dive to get it. Just dip their head down. I assume they are eating the weeds. Anyone have any info on them possibly eating minnows or anything, or are they all plants?
