I've had good success at several spots but I have been stuck at that spot lately 8) That's where I caught the whopper last week. So it's a good spot.

I also have had lots of successes in the area that's now roped off under the Willow tree along Lee. That's where I hooked my previous best that's in my pic.

If I want to work a little more water I start near the fence and work down to the big outcropping and back and then down past the sign on the left. It's my test distance for senko colors as well. I know if I go the whole length w/o any action I change colors and go again. It's still the are I've caught the most fish.

There are others as well but I've stuck to those. Guys fishing the O have show that being patient and putting the time in can net you quality fish. :D

Best of luck to ya!

The whole southeastern corner is pretty good. Haven't had much luck north of the bathrooms on the east side although there are always some nice bass cruising the area where the little discharge in the middle is. Had a lot of luck on the docks last summer, this year not so much.

Last year I snuck into the golf.course at about 4 am because the chain fence was unlocked on the Southside of opeka. Had an amazing blowup on a hula popper, ultra light spinning rod and 4 lb test. Unfortunately the bass swam into weeds which made the weight of the bass snap my rod in half. Desperate, I tried to drag it in by hand and had the line snap as I picked it up off the water.

Pretty sure you can do some ninja fishing at the course as long as you leave when you see our Hispanic landscaper friends arrive to trim the course.
