This really sucks! The DNR needs to put bounties on these fish. My idea is to turn them in at participating tackle shops and get $5 a fish or so. That'd get people on the hunt for them.

Great, so I got to start dodging them plus the crazy boaters? Do they start jumping when a wader is moving through? I hope not!
I've tried to target them before, but never was successful. I planned to keep any I caught, I have a friend who will eat them, amongst other "rough" fish I give her.

.
Silvers and big heads are the same fish.

If there is one, there are plenty more.

Imagine the eggs ready to hatch..
:(

last year there were reports of them being caught in the basin by Joliet.
That means they were able to access the kankakee, DesPlaines and canal at their leisure.

Really bad news.

Catch 'em and kill 'em.
Man, thats a shame... It was really just a matter of time. The rivers and water ways keep getting worse and wors with bad species infesting our waters. You know there is more... I hope people that do catch them do not throw them back... Remember, spring is right aroun the corner too!!!

Don't worry about it... They are all the same to me!!! All Carp are Bad ;) Get the drift  It is a Carp, a Carp is a Carp.... I hate how carp ruine Bass Spawning Beds and eat and thrive on Game-Fish Eggs and etc during the spring-summer...It is what is is though...

Lets Hope For The Best and Expect The Worst to make matters easy to deal with if it does hit us hard. :?
shame is right, i targeted these pests down in starved rock but wasnt able to land any, great fight but my set up simply was way tooo light to fight these. A bunch of korean guys bagged a few each and left with them. I give them much respect as long as the fish died

no apology required, they're both ugly and they both suck so it's an easy mistake
god i hate those stupid carp snag them and throw them in the forest for the coyotes ha speaking of carp the wwd i fish some guy snagged a carp and threw it rite in the snow to me thats a greet deed those things grow rapidly maybe il have to pick up one of those things to bow hunt them hahaha
There was one reported from the same spot about 3 or 4 years ago but MUCH smaller.

Spring Floods let them move upstream.

:(
I've heard the bounty thing a bunch, but its thowing good money away. it wont help!! check out the vids I posted in the other posts "asain carp can kill" and you'll see what I mean. they did not realize till that vid what a problem they were. it looks grim
