Hey, im going to be in Normal basically right on the campus of whatever college is there... Does anyone know of any places to fish around there? I saw a few places on google map but know nothing about them. Thanks

There is a small lake there that I tried to fish when I was there a couple of years ago. I am sure that there are bass in there, but the day that I was there I couldn't find them.

Fished Moraine View SP but that was back in the early 80's when I was at ISU.

I know it was drained and restocked.

Its probably <20 minutes from campus.

Yep-i had a fishing rod in my dorm room also.

My nephew is in Waterson tower, he is a freshman..

Lots of dinker lakes on campus.
Ride around AFTER studying and make some casts!

well first off do you have a boat? if so although tough to fish the rewards can be awesome in lake bloomington as well as lake evergreen.

yea im down here at isu and i plan on fishing everygreen as often as i can... supposed to be once of the best musky lakes in illinois but ive never actually been there...

I went to school down there Evergreen and Lake Bloomington are good, but tough from shore.

I believe that state sauger record is from Lake Bloomington

You're also in range of Powerton Lake over by Peoria in Pekin and a little trip from Lake Shelbyville, home of some great smallies

My friends down at ISU mainly fish evergreen by shore and catch some decent LMB's, Sauger, and Saugeyes.

If anyone needs a hook-up, let me know.

....... and they've never done it by boat either!

I'll be going down weekend of Sept 20-21 to fish all of it.

I believe for future reference there is a bass club that fish's evergreen every week. as well as the everbloom tournament trail which I believe alternates lake evergreen and bloomington from month to month. just fyi.
we have caught tons of Saugeye crankin for bass as well as lots of muskie follow ups in evergreen. :shock:
