I do the same. I've only got one kayak, but I don't trust the clear plastic adhesive. So until I'm stopped and directed that I have to display the stamp, I'll keep it with my fishing license.

After spending an hour at the chain near rand/palatine last summer they finally figured out what I was looking to do. Once they issued me the tag they informed me that they were out of the second half of this thing. The adhesive so you can stick the darn thing on! You'll have to call around they said, to find out who might have the REST of the sticker.
