got to northely island about 3. Went to henrys and got 3dozen minnows for my last perch outing til august. Dropped shot minnows on a 3/8oz weight with the hook about 6inches form the weight. Used a circle hook.
Daily totals

1 Perch 10inches

7 Rock Bass

999999 Gobis. Killed all of them.

Not many people were out. Just a group of guys with about 15 perch smallest was about 10inches.

Did have a hit on a manns baby one minus.

Cant wait for the salmon run.

how do u fish for these without going in between the docks.? Can u fish for them away from the boats were everyone else fishes for salmon and perch.

Everyone was at Montrose. I got there at 4:50am on Staurday and there was about 500 people shoulder to shoulder and everyone was catching Jumbos :shock: . Saw a few 15 inchers caught :shock: Softshells and small minnows on dropshot and crappie rigs off the bottom were the ticket.

If I get off work early I am heading down there for the evening bite as this is the last day of perch fishing.

u seem to know ur stuff about bass and lake michigan. what kinda lures do u use.

when i see schools of baitfish cruising...i throw spinnerbaits ( mostly shad or bluegill colors) and fish it above the weed beds.

anything that resembles crayfish.... Jig n pigs/ jig n craws.

any kinda plastic that represents a goby...i use tubes.
