Got out to Busse a couple times before the Fri-Sun shutdown which is the only time I get to get out that way. Fished the North Pool and the Main Lake from shore a couple times. Found some nice small bass and perch in the shallows on some small minnow jigs (crappie magnet brand).
Cast a few spinnerbaits and lipless cranks (rattle trap) in the North Pool near the dam while some bobberwatchers snorted lines of coke. Caught a couple bass on each lure. A nice 2.5 lb bass and another that was maybe 2 maybe a tad less. Really healthy looking fish and the times I was there I saw plenty of crappie and small baitfish shallow. Caught these fish just behind those areas.
Question: I've never taken my kayak to Busse. Do you have to pay? Also, has anyone had any luck in CWB this year? I didn't venture that far over to see what it looked like but have seen some yaks and boats in there though not as many as years past. I'm assuming with the short winter and mild temps that it should be pretty thick and ripe for some top water action as in years past.
