I never did the float and fly before. Do you impart action to it by twitching it, how far under the float are you suspending it?

I have it 7 ft down . Seems to be the sweet spot at the pond i fish. All I do is throw it out and let the current take it . Choppy water is perfect . Fish it like live bait . All I do is watch it. I cast far sections let it drift mid sections and closer section till I find them .
