My dad is uncomfortable with spinning and baitcasting reels, so he's asking me about closed-face, push-button reels. I don't have a clue about them.

Are there any decent ones out there?

I don't have too much experience with them, all I remember is having to take the cover off to untangle messes. At that point, it's basically a spinning reel.

I think there is a Zebco Omega series out there that is one of the better Zebco models. Go with zebco either way...they've been doing spincast for a long time!
