I've been told, by a reliable source, that upstream of that dam is the way to go. And that the best approach is to enter off of Dundee, either north or south, and cast spinners or daredevil spoons. The river is very wide up there so concentrate on the classic spots close to shore - eddies, pools, current breaks, structure, etc.

I was there earlier today. The pike I caught today was an all time record for me.

That is, it was the smallest pike I have ever caught.
I could have made a keychain out of it :lol:

I was going to take a picture but I wanted to get the tiny guy back home asap.

It is very shallow in some spots. We took the boat north from #2 and experienced several hundred yards of 12 inch deep water at one point. It was in the fall.
You just have to keep moving till you find a hole.
