Is anybody familiar with Daves Tackle & Taxidermy in Crystal Lake? I hear they are nice people. Is it a decent bait & tackle shop? billyk

Coyote goes there quite a bit. I have gone in with him a few times and was very impressed with their tackle selection. They have lots of very good off-name baits that you will never see in a Gander or Cabelas, which suprised me. The service seemed very good too. I heard their minnow counts though depend on who is working that day.

Daves has just about anything you need , the people who work there are knowledgeable, and are very good customer service wise. If you are looking for a good minnow count ..... do not go there. Gats in Dundee gives the best minnow count in this area.All tackle is highly priced but sometimes you will pay it for the convience , Bass pro a little to far for me and not a big fan of Cabelas so i do spend some dough here.
