many fish in many ponds exepcially bluegill and crappie are not strong and healthy enough to live past winter. Most of these fish die of starvation because the ponds dont have what fish need to survive past winter.

All of the above reasons are correct. But the kill at the wwd is a different story. Something came out of that discharge that funked up the water. Don't know what, but that's unfortunately the nature of such a place.
