Took my final Friday off for the Summer and headed up to Deep Lake. Fishing was tough. Winds picked up as the morning progressed and combined with the high skies it made for rough fishing. I did finally catch my first buzzbait bass!! :D 8) It was only 13", but it was significant for me. That was in the first 10 minutes of fishing though. After that it took another 3 hours to get another bass. This one was a 17-incher on a green hardnose worm. Had to move around a lot to find any active fish. Did see a few big ol hawgs out there swimming around. At around 11:00 a.m. I hooked into a really nice bass. This one was EASILY over 20". I got it about half way in and it turned the opposite direction from where it was going and the hook came free. It was at that point that I proceeded to orate profusely in homage to the "F" word. That really pissed me off, but what can you do. :? Of course the day was still good because there was not a single pleasure boater out there!!!

Congrats on the Buzzbait Bass Clancy! Ill bet it was one hell of a great feeling catching that bass. Fishing can be slow at times, but keep your cool and fish a bit slower. Sucks that you lost that hawg, though keep trying you'll eventually land it.

Thanks for the report Clancy. LOL, your description of the profanity was too much! I have been know to do the same. It must have been nice to be on Deep without any pleasure boaters.
