Fished Deep Lake from about 6:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. I finally discarded my Deep Lake skunk. :D :D I also continued my success from yesterday's adventure on Defiance Lake. In fact all the fish I caught today, and didn't catch as well, were on the exact same colored senko style worm as yesterdays fish. I apologize if it sounds like I am gloating, but I was close to giving up on fishing before this weekend so I am excited beyond belief.

It was beautiful weather today. Cloudy, light winds, and not hot. All in all today I had 13 fish on, but only 8 of those made it into the boat. Of the 8 that made it in they included a 9", 11", and two 13". The other 4 fish are pictured below. What a great day!!! :D 8)

Nice job 3 over 19" in one day!!

I'd be gloating if I had one..

Had a painting project this weekend I kept looking out the window between coats thinking this was a perfect day to be out fishing.

I am still buzzing after the last two days of fishing and today especially, just ask my wife. My thumb is pretty ripped up too. 8) I really felt like I learned a lot today about Deep Lake. I found spots I have never fished before that produced really well. One spot in particular produced an 11", 13", and 20" within a 10 minute period and it was no bigger than 15 feet by 15 feet and tucked away in the weeds in an area deeper than I expected it to be due to its proximity to shore. I pulled the 19" from a specific small pocket back in the heavy weeds on the north side. It really turned out to be a great learning experience that I hope to apply to future trips and tournaments. Of course the perfect weather today helped. :D

I tested the scale on a half-gallon of milk at home and it came out within an ounce or so of where it should be so I have to assume it is right. The fish didn't feel really heavy so it's probably right. I guess the skinnier fish were finally hungry enough to bite. It might be some of the later spawners that are finally getting their appetite and energy back. :? Oh well, at this point I am just excited to finally catch some decent numbers of quality fish at Deep Lake. Maybe my avatar change did indeed do the trick. :D 8)

Toothdoc, Have you had troubles with yours? It's the same scale that you have. It worked on milk jug, but I wonder if it gets squirrly sometimes. :? I also weighed the 3lb 1oz fish twice to make sure and it was the same each time. And it seemed to work during the last tournament when several guesses were made on the weight of certain fish and the scale proved those out. I don't know what to think now. :( I will have to test it again at home to make sure I don't need to bring it back for a replacement.

The only problem that I have had with mine is not waiting until the scale stops calculating the weight. I tend to be a little impatient and not wait long enough for the scale to do it's job.

Looks like you had a awesome day at Deep. Man those are some nice health Larry's. I havent fish there yet but with the tourney right around the corner I'll have to fit a practice day in my schedule soon.

king clancy, on another roll at deep.

me too dude, i was just about to call it quits but the 2 monsters that got away revitalized me.

i'm still a skunk but i know the bass can be caught, and nobody's claimed that 10 lber yet.
