Deep Lake is shaped like a boot...

In April I scared a few huge carp near the toe of the boot throwing topwater lures looking for bass. The carp were large.

In June/July I saw and videotaped 1-2 foot long carp swimming in pairs in the shallows of the very north part of the lake near bullrushes along a sandy shore.

I've tried catching the carp with topwater lures but they don't like that.

And, I've never caught a carp or even a catfish accidentally at Deep Lake.

Perhaps if you now how to fish for them, you'll have a success.

Oh, almost forgot. Saw two teenagers catch a huge dogfish near the creek inlet on the east side of Deep Lake. It was a mean looking fish.
