Clouds, sun, but no rain! Temps in the upper 70's-80's; fished from 5:30am - 10am.

Several of us from WCF met up, i'll just mention our boat results as everyone else can post theirs.

Fished with Tony (#1cubsfan) and the morning started off GREAT as we avoided the rain. Got to the lake and the water was like glass and we were ready for some serious top water action. We casted, casted, changed lures, casted, casted. zilch. WTF!? We moved to several other spots and used several other lures until we finally came across some fish all the way by the shore on the north end of the lake. Tony hooked into a decent 12" largemouth bass on a Senko and I landed a nice 18" largemouth bass on a Senko. Then the sun came out the the fish stopped cooperating. As we were leaving Tony cast a Senko by the pier from shore and landed another nice 12-13" largemouth bass.

The rest of the gang did catch some fish including a couple of 20 inchers! Can't wait to see their reports.

Overall, I really expected the action to be much better. But Deep Lake DID produce some nice fish for us.

Nice to meet Matt (ClancyWiggum) and a shout out to Danno on his birthday today! Happy birthday Dan.

Was a great day out there on Deep Lake! My new favorite fish hole!
Finally broke my Senko Skunk and landed a ton of LMBS on a Pumpkinseed colored one. Biggest being 18" and next biggest right about 17 1/2. Tons of smaller ones to. Love those senkos now!

Augy did have motor troubles for a while, so I ended up towing him around for a while.. While we were tied up, we saw a Big gar swiming around, that was one heck of a fish.

Thanks again Mike for the use of your motor, and thanks for the trolling motor Eric. Thanks to the rest of ya for showing me the ropes today.

Boat place opens up at 6, or if they wake up maybe earlier.

I am absolutely exhausted from a long day of fishing so this report will be short, but I will post a better report tomorrow. Mike and I fished from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. That's right....10 hours  We couldn't get enough. Mike and I boated 10 fish apiece!!! I love this place. I caught the smallest of the 20 fish with an 8" bass, but all of the others were 12" and above. Mike actually boated 2 20" bass!!!!   My biggest was slightly over 17". I will post a more detailed report with photos after a good night's sleep. What an awesome time though and it was a great to meet so many WCF members out there. A special shout out to Mike for being a great guide, getting me on some great fish, and even going so far as to lend me a triple slugo which absolutely killed them today. :D

We got out to deep around 6:20am and quickly discovered they had no more motored boats to rent..... LAME. But it was a good first time experience on that lake for me. My friend caught 2 lmb one being close to 15", i caught a smaller one. Had what looked like atleast a 18-20" bass bite my 7" power worm in half under a boat dock, tried to get him to hit again for another 10 mins but he would just swim around it and go back uner. Anyways im looking foward to go back (next weekend) and hopefully not have to row around the lake all day.

stevo, sorry to hear you couldn't get a motor. it's tough to row that lake. especially when the winds kick up. glad you guys got on some fish. i have a decent map that mike (basscaster) inspired me to create. if anybody wants a copy, PM me your email address.

we had a great time! looks like we all had some success today. weather was just perfect but boy oh boy did that sun beat the hell out of me. 8)

nice meeting the new folks along with the old timers. i can only imagine how many more of these fantastic deep lake outings we can pull off this season.

well for our report:

we headed north from the gates. found BIG bass along the north shore in the new lilypads. found big bass swimming along side the GIANT carp. seriously, these carp were HUGE! 25lb +

john got the ultimate deep lake gift. his first deep bass is a 20 inch hawg!

i hooked up a little later with what could of been my personal best bass. got it half way in and shot up in the air then popped off. it's a sick feeling knowing you just lost a monster.

like dan mentioned, we had some equipment difficulties. dan was kind enough to volunteer and tow us along. started picking up one here and one there along the southeast and east sides.

Well we charted the weather to the last hour and decided at 4:00am

"IT"S A GO"...we have 5 hours to fish..based on the weather maps

At 4:00am the race was on..to RT 132 west.....

We paired up... put the motors on the boats and at 6:00am or so we were fishing!!!!!!..

Weather was calm cloudy. in the AM but got a bit windy in the afternoon. Intermittent clouds were the 'mode' of the day ...sunny 'senkos' Cloudy ..the 3x slugo was hitting big time.

Matt it was a fun day. Nice to meet you and glad we figured out a good patteren and got on the bass

Matt and I "had a good Day" at Deep Lake., The afternoon bite was outstanding. We were at one point site fishing the 3x with great results.

Others we on a Senko bite but we kept going back to the shad patten and it was working well for us.

Here are my pixs of the better fish. ( we switched cameras all day....It's nice to lose count of how many you caught...because your 'culling' ...but we got some nice fish today)

If you want to hook into a nice size bass "THIS IS THE PLACE"

Good to see every one from the WCF site...
that ventured out ...it was a 50/50 shot but mother nature held out
(fishing after the full moon is good with me)

Until Next Time !!!!!!!!

Yea i saw u guys on the very north end, one of your boats was havin some engine trouble...Augy my friend caught a similar size bass exactly where you were in a weird way. It basically came up to the boat and my friend didnt even cast his buzz bait he just dropped it in and moved it and the thing hit. Crazy. Anywas yea im hooked on that lake even though we had to row all around it, most likely i am going back next weekend.
