Iwas out there with a friend fishing from 6-9pm I didn't get anything two lil bites but my friend got a 13in LMB, dink bass, and a small pike had a big one on but we were fishing for bass and it cut the line sorry no pictures.How can I get the best of both fish without using a steel leader which makes it harder to catch bass?

For a while this spring I was using a leader with spinnerbaits and cranks all the time. I got bit off by small pike a couple times in the past, so I figured what the hell and just used it all the time. It didnt really effect catching bass, and I was able to land a few nice fish that would have been lost due to their toothiness thanks to that wire.

I even had one style that I seriously think improved my bass fishing. It had a big chrome bead on the swivel that the line gets tied to.

i use a swivel or most of the time i use a steel leader for bass fishing anyway

I always thought not to use them for bass fishing but thanks for the help ill have a report for deep quarry tomorrow
