A long anticapated Pike/Bass trip to Delavan with MRB started out with MRB coming out swinging as he hooked into this 19" HAWG..
We continued working the harbor picking up a mix of bass ranging 14 to 17 inches and pike in the low to mid 20's
In search of bigger pike and a more active bite we worked different depths in front of lake lawn resort but only picked up a few small pike and occasional bass
We worked the bay by Turtle Creek which was pretty matted over so we switched to topwater buzz baits that povided some more bass excitement and a couple big blow-ups... But the bite slowed down so we took a lunch break and threw a few slip bobbers out and got entertained by bass and some gills..Most bass were smaller than this so we moved on.
We made are way to Willow Point where we seen a guy on a dock shooting carp with a bow.. We worked the shore lines and made our way to the Island only picking up more mid to low 20 pike or a few bass.
With time winding down we determained our most consistant bite was with spinner baits in the harbor so we let the sunset where we started the day and got on a mix of few more bass and pike
We got in just in time to grab a Burger before the kitchen shut down and got the weather forcast for the next day. SEVERE STORMS..
Got up in the morning and the first storm front just passed after pumping the bilge out and getting geared up the rain and wind started up. We headed back to the car and after an hr It was game on we hit the water and nailed a couple with MRB starting the day off with this nice one.
But just as quick as we started getting a few the winds started kicking strong and another storm was coming in.. At that point we threw up the white flag and loaded the boat up and hit the road..
We managed 30 + fish but we put in a long day. MRB managed a few of the bigger bass. But we were both hoping for some more active bigger pike.. we also hoped to get in a full day Friday but weather didn't cooperate. We both had some camera issues but I did get a few of these out of my camera..
Had a great time enjoyed the conversation and laugh's with MRB..
Will have to do it again Adam and nail those Big Pike next time.
