Fished the DPR with Alex from 1pm-3:45pm in Park Ridge/Rosemont. Overcast; foggy; temps in the upper 40's. South winds.
The water was high and fast. The area right under the dam was very turbid and produced no results. Worked upstream and had a northern pike hammer a jig and the fight was on. Then the line got cut. People in several communities then heard F-bombs bellow throughout! Got a decent look at the fish, probably mid 20's in length.
Later Alex had a smaller northern on a jig that actually tail-danced, but alas, spit the hook.
So we did not land any fish, but at least there was a little action. And nice day to be out for wintertime.
