Was supposed to be lousy weather today but turned out to be ok. After a busy morning I decided to take a drive up to Gurnee. Fished the DPR from 1:30pm-4pm; south winds 10mph; mixed clouds and sun; temps in the upper 50's.
Having only fished this area in the fall for northern pike, I had no idea if any would be around. Lo and behold they were there as I managed 2 pike. One was a 12" snake and the other was 19". Both caught on Rat-L-Traps.
Forgive the poor handling here, she did a twist, sliced my finger, and got a little dirty. But she swam away happy as can be.
