Thats a Sony Video/Camera (mini dv) It was a 1000.00 camera 2 years ago and i did try the DVD version which I did not like do the fact that every time you turn the video on and off the video would make a new folder. So on a 60 min dvd disc,you took 34 on/off's you would have 34 folders . Which was a pain in the arse...........

Its on its 3rd fix so one more fix and i get it lemoned...........From best buy
I have had 2 camcorders lemoned from best buy
I use my camera, in the past years my sons played hockey. So that was 10 to 15 hours of use per week. I have over 1000 DVD's in the lock box(for safety)
