I had some time to kill before my series 63 test yesterday and an itch to go fishing. Winds were brutal yesterday, making it difficult to cast, but it didn't seem to turn the pike off. I managed landing the little guy in the picture below after having one around 30" throw the hook 2 feet from shore :x .

Nice northern! The water looks like it was pretty high. It should really be flowing after all of the rains this weekend.

The water was high, but not too bad. It was low enough to where the water was pretty still unerneath bridges. The backwaters are now pretty much iced out and the pike should be moving to spawn soon. It was nice to get out somewhere besides the WWD.

Not deep at all - probably 3-5 feet and right on the shoreline. My shallow running lure was making contact with the bottom when he slammed it.
