I might be heading out to the dpr for some pike this weekend. What lure will for sure catch me a pike?

I think Jay has been using spoons lately. Bring a couple and give 'em a shot.

You may also want to consider a few big bladed, 3/8 or 1/2 ounce spinnerbaits in hot colors. They are a proven commodity for pike and you should not have much trouble losing them to snags unless you are prone to cast into trees like me

Storm swimbaits.

The WildEye versions. Awesome in cold water.

I also second the spoons. Minnowbaits too.

Spinnerbaits and bucktails in water that's only 40-degrees and will fall to the upper 30's by later this week??? I wouldn't expect much, IMO.

Andrew, I have done well slow rolling them for river muskie all the way until ice-up. To each their own :wink:

I have used spinnerbaits even in the middle of winter on the DPR and still have caught some nice Northerns!

Sweet! To the DPR I go. I'll try the spoons this time and slow spinner baits. I need to get out of this skunk rut again. Maybe Lee and I will head out there on Sunday.

There are A LOT of frogs by me. Even now, there are still a few around. For what its worth :wink: :wink:

thanks for the help guys didnt get out to the DPR though just went to the pond with some crawlers and cought 3 gills.
