It's getting close to that time again - inland trout season at Axehead Lake, Belleau Lake, Sag Quary East, and Horsetail Lake.

Opening day will be Saturday, October 21, 2006. A valid Illinois fishing license with an inland trout stamp are required. There is a daily creel limit of 5 fish.

Anyone fished at Belleau for the trout opener? I was thinking of hitting it up this year because I can walk there and get there super early without having to deal with the parking mess and have someone pick me up afterwards (hopefully because I reached the creel limit). I love my little in-line spinners and have had good luck trout fishing in Wisconsin with them. Axehead is still a little to weedy for them. I did want to use some of these salmon eggs I stocked up on. Are there any restrictions on having two poles in the water?
