I guess not to many folks have the access that you have there and thus don't have much experience fishing in that area. I would find me some areas with rocks and fish right up against it.
Fishing Smallies around Great Lakes Naval St
I have access to launch at Great Lakes Naval Station. Is there any good smallmouth fishing up there?

any luck out there smallie fishing? i'm not exactly sure where the naval station is but maybe a google earth satellite scan may result in some areas to fish.
